FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

"What can Ace Propane/Hunt Propane offer to a new customer?"

Ace Propane/Hunt Propane is your local, low price, full service supplier. All our customers are important to us. We will not compromise that commitment by offering "give a-ways" or gimmicks to attract new customers. If you are switching from another propane supplier to Ace Propane/Hunt Propane, we'll schedule an appointment to install a propane tank at your location, conduct a system safety check, and transfer any remaining fuel at no charge to you. Your first delivery will follow shortly there after.

New Construction - If you are building a new home, addition, or pool, we can work with you or your contractor to determine your tank needs, location, and other pertinent data.

Customer-Owned Tank - If you own the propane tank at your location, we can provide service to you without contracts as a Keep-Full Service or Will Call.

"What are my delivery options?"

Ace Propane/Hunt Propane offers free Keep-Full Service and Will Call.

With the Keep-Full Service, we will monitor your tank and deliver when our records indicate you need a fill (provided past balances are paid). As a Keep-Full customer, in the event that you run out, we will restore service to you immediately at no charge. All we ask is that the customer advises of any unusual usage pattern or consumption increases, such as generator usage.

As a Will Call customer, you are responsible for monitoring your tank and calling us when you need propane delivered. We'll deliver the same time we are making deliveries in your area. Call to find out the day we are in your area.  If by chance you run out of propane we will restore your service for a fee which is $100.00 during working hours and $150.00 after hours and weekends.

"Do you offer payment options?"

Ace Propane/Hunt Propane offers the following payment options:

Budget Billing - This unique program lets customers spread their average annual propane expenses throughout the year in equal monthly payments, eliminating high winter bills and helps budget utility expenses. For more details, please call the office at (530) 271-7365.

Pay by Mail - The most convenient method of payment is by our easy use delivery tickets and envelops at time of delivery. Payments can be mailed in at any time during the month or accepted over the phone with a debit or credit card.

Monthly Statements - Activity statements are mailed out at the end of each month for customers with balances and credits and for those with budget payment plans.

"What areas do you provide service in?"

  • Alta Sierra
  • Camptonville
  • Chicago Park
  • Downieville
  • Grass Valley
  • Nevada City
  • North San Juan
  • Rough and Ready
  • Sierra City
  • Smartsville

"At what percentage should I call in for a delivery?"

At least by 25%. It is important to consider that winter conditions may restrict accessibility to some residences. We service a particular area of the county each day of the week. Call to find out what day we are in your area. Special arrangements can be provided in emergency situations.

"What happens if I run out of gas?"

We can't emphasis this enough: don't let yourself run out of gas! This is a dangerous, expensive, and an inconvenient experience. Insurance policies require your propane provider to perform a safety check on all your appliances, to re-light all of the pilots and make sure there are no unsafe conditions. In all cases the home owner will need to be present. Home owners will incur additional charges for a service person.
